A denial is not always the end of the road. We review denial letters, identify coverage arguments the insurer may have missed, and rebuild the claim file with the documentation needed to appeal or reopen — without you navigating the process alone.

Why Claims Get Denied

Common reasons include coverage disputes, incomplete documentation, or adjusters who did not scope the full loss. Many denials can be challenged with proper evidence.

  • Coverage interpretation that ignores related damage
  • Incomplete initial inspections
  • Missed related damage such as water leading to mold or wind leading to interior loss
  • Technical exclusions applied too broadly
  • Timing issues tied to notice or documentation gaps

How We Rebuild a Denied File

We analyze your policy, loss timeline, and denial rationale, then develop a strategy to reopen, appeal, or supplement the claim.

  • Independent inspection with photos and moisture data
  • Expert estimates that separate covered peril from excluded maintenance
  • Clear narrative connecting weather, failure, or event to documented damage
  • Follow-up correspondence until the carrier responds with a reviewed position

Documentation and Permits After a Denial

Denied files often improve when you show what repairs will actually require — not just what an adjuster guessed from the curb.

  • Licensed contractor scopes tied to permitted repair paths
  • Engineer or trade expert input on structural or roofing systems when needed
  • Photo preservation before further demolition
  • Separate documentation for flood versus wind pathways on hurricane losses

I cannot thank Elijah with Your Claim Hero enough! My hurricane claim was denied and sat untouched for an entire year. I honestly thought I was out of luck. Elijah stepped in, took over the process, and turned that 'no' into a brand new roof in less than 2 months. If you’re struggling with your insurance company, do yourself a favor and call him first.

I cannot thank Joe and the team at Your Claim Hero Public Adjusters enough. My insurance company flat out denied my claim. It was a very stressful time following the denial. Suddenly, Joe appeared and reassured me he would get my claim approved. After two months, he delivered on his promise. He is very knowledge, professional and friendly. Highly recommended. He's a superstar! Thanks Joe.

I had damage ti my kitchen where insurance originally denied it. Joe and the team cane out, assessed the damage and were able to negotiate a great settlement so we could redo our kitchen.

My insurance company appraised the damage to my house after hurricane Milton at $200 below our deductible, and sent us a letter that they owe us nothing. Joe was recommended by one of my customers so we contacted him. He put his team to work and six months later we received a substantial settlement from the insurance company. If you are unhappy with your insurance company’s offer, Joe is the man to call. I am in the hurricane impact windows, doors, and shutters. Since last year’s hurricanes I dealt with many homeowners that were unhappy with their insurance companies. Some of them chose the wrong public adjuster and ended up unhappy with results they achieved. Choosing the right adjuster can make all the difference. I sure am glad I chose Joe - he is really a Claim Hero.

We run our business out of our home, specifically our garage. So when we had a tree fall through it during the last hurricane, it was imperative we get the damages fixed immediately so we didn't lose time or money. Unfortunately, insurance had a different idea. Our claim was severly underpaid even though their first adjuster assessed the damages correctly. When it hit the desk adjuster, the amount was reduced by over $30,000. We hired Your Claim Hero to deal with the insurance company and get the value we needed to make repairs and get our business back online. Within 3 months (maybe less) we had the check in hand that covered the cost of repairs because Joe and his team did such a great job covering every single angle that was needed. I can't recommend this company enough to anyone fighting insurance companies. He's extremely professional, communicative, and on top of everything!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a public adjuster cost?

We work on contingency, so you pay nothing upfront. We are paid only when we recover additional funds for you. If there is no additional recovery, you owe us nothing.

Can you help if I already filed a claim with my insurer?

Yes. Many clients hire us mid-claim when the insurer's estimate seems low, delays drag on, or supplements are needed for damage that was missed.

Can a denied claim be reopened?

Depending on the date of loss and circumstances, many claims can be reopened or supplemented. We review your case for free and advise on practical next steps.

Should I cash a small check if my claim was denied?

Bring the letter, policy, and any payments to us before you assume the file is closed. Partial payments and denials sometimes overlap, and documentation matters.
